I saw this old china cabinet hutch turned oils display at my favorite health food store, and I am obsessed! If I didn’t know what I know about oils, I would be drawn in by the display alone 🤩
Here’s what you should know when shopping for oils 👇🏼 In order to receive the full therapeutic benefits from essential oils, they must be made purely from plants, grown in chemical-free soil, never treated with chemical pesticides, harvested and distilled properly, with no added fillers. The problem is, there are no regulations in this industry. So, when you pick up a bottle off the shelf at the store, it may say “pure” or even “therapeutic” on the label. What does this mean?
It means that maybe 5-10% is pure essential oil, and the rest is filler/carrier oils that don’t have to be on the label...including chemicals like propylene glycol or mineral spirits ☠️ which are toxic for your body. These oils (even the ones at the health food store) are sourced globally from brokers, and we know nothing about their exact origins or process. They are considered “fragrance grade”, the therapeutic properties have been compromised, and can even create adverse reactions. I do not recommend ever using these oils on yourself, your kids, or near your pets, and never ever ingest them.
What makes Young Living different? YL is also the farmer and oversees the entire process from start to finish. We own all of our own farms (which are also open to the public) and work with partner farms around the world. Seeds are planted in untreated soil, weeded by hand, only oils are used as natural pesticides, plants are harvested at their therapeutic peak, oils are distilled in medical grade equipment, tested in house and third party, and bottled in house before being shipped to you. (Find out more at seedtoseal.com). All of the info you need to know is on the label including the plant species, and a batch number. The bottle only contains plants, and no other fillers. They can be used for therapeutic benefits aromatically, topically, or by ingesting (look for the white labels to see the vitality line). Have questions? Message me! And please use caution when lured in by a pretty display 😉
